A educação emancipadora de base freireana é uma relação estabelecida entre educação e política com foco no potencial educativo, dialógico e social de engajamento dos indivíduos no/com o mundo.  Por essa via, este dossiê tem por base aglutinar pesquisas e estudos, de pesquisadores nacionais e internacionais, correlacionados a formação de professores (inicial e continuada), a prática docente, direitos humanos, sustentabilidade, transdisciplinaridade e demais temáticas correlatas para nutrir a compreensão de educação emancipatória de crianças, adolescentes e adultos na seara da formação humana e integral.
