Complex education:

a new teaching approach to teacher training in Basic Education

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to systematize teaching approaches which influence Brazilian education, showing the need to locate an alternative to be used in teacher training to enhance pedagogical practices committed to complying with demands that are contextualized and connected on the planet´s level. Based on a bibliographical review and on a qualitative approach, the study has looked into the teaching approaches identified by Mizukami (2016) and drew near to an approach associated with the triad complex thinking-transdisciplinarity-ecoformation. It is concluded that complex education is an emergency teaching approach aimed at stimulating teacher training that will promote metamorphoses in the pedagogical practice as it values pertinent knowledge and, as a result, teaching and learning processes appreciative of hologrammatic, dialogical, and recursive principles.
