Abstract

The article “Research with children in Early Childhood Education: conceptual, ethical and methodological discussions” aims to gather, systematize and analyze studies and researches that approach academic productions on research with children in Early Childhood Education (2017-2021), in order to identify the main research trends found, their gaps and relevant discussions, and critically evaluate them. We opted for a literature review and procedures were carried out to locate, gather, select and order the references of studies and researches that address the theme, based on consultations on the platform of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (Ibict oasisbr). The results reveal the importance of considering children's voices and actions when doing a research with children, also considering what they have to say about their background and experiences about everything that interferes in their lives.

Author Biographies

Luciana Aparecida de Araujo, UNESP - Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho"

He holds a degree in Pedagogy from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1995), a master's degree in Education from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001) and a PhD in Education from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. He did a Post-Doctorate at the Carlos Chagas Foundation (2013). Associate Professor in Pedagogical Research at FFC/Unesp/Marília (2022). She is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences - Unesp/Marilia, working in the Pedagogy course and in the Graduate Program in Education. He has experience in the field of Education, with an emphasis on Research. He works mainly on the following topics: Teacher training, pedagogical research, research in teacher training and practice, scientific literacy and research with children. She is Leader of the Study Group on Pedagogical Research and Scientific Culture (GEPPECC) and researcher at GEPPECI - Study and Research Group on Pedagogy and Children's Cultures, at the Federal University of Alagoas, all registered in the Directory of Research Groups of CNPq.

Cleriston Izidro dos Anjos, UFAL - Universidade Federal de Alagoas

Professor at the Education Center of the Federal University of Alagoas (CEDU/UFAL/Brazil), working in the Pedagogy Undergraduate Program and in the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE/CEDU/UFAL). Member of the Faculty of the Masters in Pre-School Education at the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences of Cuanza Sul (Angola). He holds a degree in Pedagogy from the Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (2004), a Master's degree in Education from the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo (2008), a PhD in Education from the Education Center of the Federal University of Alagoas (2015) and Post-Doctorate in Education from the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo (2019). He has experience in Education, working mainly on the following topics: Early Childhood Education, Teacher Training, Expressive Languages ​​and Childhood Cultures. Coordinator of GEPPECI - Study and Research Group on Children's Pedagogies and Cultures (CNPq/CEDU/UFAL), Doctoral Collaborating Member of the Research Center in Child Studies at the University of Minho (CIEC/UMinho/Portugal) in the group "Contexts, everyday life and well-being of the child". Member of the Frente Nordeste Criança (Alagoas Representation) and component of the Black Childhood Network.
