Abstract

This text aims to present a reflection on the uniqueness of research with children and the relationships that we establish with our interlocutors, having as reference a doctoral thesis in Education, defended in 2019, in a Federal Public University in the Brazilian northeast, which investigated about the play of children in times of mobile digital technologies. For the methodological options that grounded the paths of Research with children, we developed the study with two groups of players, formed by a four-year-old and a five-year-old and their peers, in the private/family space. For the relations we established with our interlocutors we adopted Childhood Studies, carried out in the field of Sociology of Childhood (CORSARO, 2011; SARMENTO, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008; SARMENTO; PINTO, 1997; SIROTA, 2011; PINTO, 1997; QUINTEIRO, 2009). As a result we conclude that in research with young children, it is necessary to think about the posture of the researcher in the relationship with the child. This posture needs to be understood having as a principle the place of alterity experienced by adult researchers and children throughout their research process.
