Abstract

This article discusses the potential of the cultural curriculum of an animated film produced with children as part of the project "Playing Cinema with Children." The film, titled "The School of Differences," available on the project's YouTube channel, features Alice, a girl who encounters barriers to doing what she loves most: playing soccer. Based on the conflict generated by Alice's ban, the article discusses the social markers of gender and the prejudices that inhabit the school, prompting a discussion about how to "excavate" possibilities in a school curriculum that insists on binary gender demarcation.
