Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the importance of the sociology of education curricular component, with indigenous, multilingual academics, in the Degree in Literature course, run by a public university, through the Teacher Training Program (Parfor), in 2024, in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, in the state of Amazonas. 81 students, teachers in training from various ethnicities participated in the study. The methodology of this investigation is a qualitative, descriptive approach, developed in the light of action research (Thiollent, 2003), with ethnographic strategies (Chizzotti, 2003). As a result, performance coefficients with an average higher than the minimum passing grade stand out. The academics understood the contents of the curricular component, based on the daily experiences of their communities, in the context of the university, combined with ancestral knowledge and the political and social organization of the communities in which they are inserted.
