Abstract

This article presents a philosophical discussion on school pedagogical relationship. The aim is to understand and argue the possibility of considering the production of this relationship based on the principles of craftsmanship (workshop, teacher/artisan, craftsmanship, material awareness). Thus, it is divided into subsections that seek: to present a reading of the Brazilian educational scenario, based on educational public policies; relate the concepts that define a craft workshop to considerations about the definition of the school space, expanding the understanding of the school as a workshop; reflect on the possibility of understanding the human relationship as a work and the pedagogical relationship as a craft work; and, present the dialogue as a means to build this school pedagogical relationship. It uses an artisanal, walking, bibliographical methodology, with hermeneutic inspiration to relate the different arguments and expressions that support the thesis. It is considered that the teacher can develop actions inspired by craftsmanship for the constitution of the school pedagogical relationship based on some characteristic that attribute the adjective ‘good’ to the artisan: the recognition of the importance of the sketch for the constitution of works; the positive value of contingencies; o avoid relentless pursuit of problem solving; o avoid of perfectionism; and, learn to identify when to stop.
