Abstract

Based on Nietzsche’s experiences during his stay in Genoa, at the time of writing Dawn, this article aims to investigate “slow agility” as a distinctive feature of life and of the free-spirited thinker. We begin by discussing Nietzsche’s temperament and the seasonality of his experiments in knowledge and the art of living. It is from this body, situated and immersed in different “climates of the soul,” marked by the Genoese autumn and winter, that the passion of knowledge emerges. Finally, we move forward with an emphasis on slow agility, with its configuration of new rhythms of gentleness, heralding new dawns. Gaia wisdom consists of this slow work on oneself, in the intense and patient effort of “slow cures,” as the precious fruit of Nietzsche’s season in Genoa.
