Abstract

This article explores whether the relationship between language and world, as considered by Gadamer, provides a way of understanding the experience of linguistic understanding through which users of machine learning gain the possibility of expanding their horizons beyond the application of computer devices when understanding and producing a written text. To answer this question, a hermeneutic methodology based on the analysis of bibliographical sources is used, and Gadamer’s view of language and world experience is examined, as well as his proposal of language as a speculative center and structure. It is concluded that the use of computer devices in function of the understanding and production of meaning of the written text represents, from Gadamer´s approach, the occasion for something constitutive of the philosophical tradition to happen: commitment to a practice of mutual understanding carried out in the form of dialogue in which those involved harmonize the ability to question with the use of technological tools in the task of the production of meaning of the written text in a speculative way, which includes by itself the action of saying always open.
