El conocimiento tradicional de las comunidades negras en el discurso global sobre la conservación de la biodiversidad

El presente artículo analiza el papel de los conocimientos tradicionales de las comunidades negras en el discurso global sobre la conservación de la biodiversidad. Para lograr este propósito, se identifican los desafíos y oportunidades para una mayor participación de las comunidades negras en los procesos de toma de decisiones relacionados con las políticas e instrumentos en materia de conservación de la biodiversidad. Dentro de la metodología escogida, se realizó un análisis documental de la literatura científica, informes de organizaciones no gubernamentales e instrumentos regionales e internacionales relacionados con el tema. A través de este análisis, se presentan unas reflexiones para fortalecer la participación de las comunidades negras y garantizar la salvaguarda de sus conocimientos, subrayando la necesidad de incorporar los conocimientos tradicionales de las comunidades negras en las estrategias de conservación. Al hacerlo, no solo se protege la biodiversidad, sino que también se promueve la justicia ambiental y racial, además de fortalecerse la resiliencia de estas comunidades ante los desafíos ambientales globales.
