Abstract

Considering the importance of teamwork for the effectiveness of social assistance actions, this study aimed to analyze the influence of socioprofessional characteristics on the teamwork climate among 283 professionals from a Municipal Department of Social Assistance. Among the participants, the majority were labor law employees (66.8%) and female (83.7%). Women scored significantly higher than men in the factor related to team objectives. Participation in the team was significantly higher among labor law employees compared to statutory employees. The service area in which the professional operates significantly influenced levels of team participation and support for new ideas. Educational level and service area significantly impacted the team objectives factor. Based on the findings, practical recommendations arise for planning actions aimed at promoting the management of the teamwork climate. These recommendations may be useful for professionals and managers operating within the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS), serving as a basis for the development of laws and that can ensure improvements in working conditions and processes for organizing teamwork.
