Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the concept of psychological assessment in undergraduate students. 87 university students participated, 65.3% declared themselves to be female, from a college in the state of Ceará, from different semesters. A sociodemographic questionnaire and a questionnaire containing six open questions about psychological assessment were used. Data were analyzed in the iramuteq software using two techniques: Word Cloud and Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD). The CDH indicated the existence of three classes, which emphasize psychological assessment: concepts and instruments used (class 1), psychometric parameters of psychological instruments (class 2) and Satepsi: minimum authorization requirements for using the psychological test (class 3). It is concluded that the function of satepsi and the notion of psychological assessment were understood. However, the psychometric aspects are little assimilated. Thus, it is necessary to rethink teaching techniques and resources that can contribute to the improvement of training.
