Evaluation of an Online Training in Positive Psychology: Health Promotion of Professionals

Abstract

Introduction: This study evaluated the feasibility criteria for online training in Positive Psychology to promote the health of health/education/assistance professionals. The design was longitudinal, training with synchronous and asynchronous activities with six weekly, group sessions and pre-post training feasibility assessment regarding the criteria: demand, adherence, acceptability, satisfaction with the training and with the moderator, understanding and use of the contents in the life, feedback/improvement suggestions, need for training adjustments/adaptations. Method: 71 professionals participated (female=62), 19-61 years old (M=32.03, SD=10.84). The qualitative results indicated that self-care, forgiveness/self-forgiveness, gratitude and empathy were the themes that generated the greatest mobilization. The main learnings reported were forgiveness (52%) and gratitude (38%); the most generalized contents were forgiveness and self-forgiveness (30%), gratitude (21%), self-care (14%) and/or care for others/empathy (14%); Among the suggestions for improvements: stipulating tolerance times for the start/end of sessions, offering more groups at alternative times and face-to-face format, among others. Conclusion: The training complied with the evaluated feasibility criteria and, after revisions according to the data obtained, it can continue as a pioneering practice for health promotion in the national context.
