Abstract

A three-year-old male Agapornis roseicollis presented yellowish scaling around the external openings of both ear canals, with no signs of pruritus. Laboratory tests for bacterial and fungal cultures revealed the presence of Staphylococcus aureus and Aspergillus spp. The para-
sitological examination identified mites of the genus Dermatophagoides spp. The patient underwent treat-ment with Frontline® spray and Auritop® ear solution,
with doses determined by the allometric extrapolation method. The clinical signs ceased after two weeks, with complete success with the treatment.
