About the Journal

Focus and scope

Revista Acadêmica Ciência Animal is a publication of the School of Medicine and Life Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), with online dissemination and free access. Created with the purpose of being a vehicle for scientific dissemination in the field of Animal Science, its mission is to disseminate the knowledge developed by the Brazilian and international scientific community, publishing scientific articles of original research, technical notes and, upon invitation, review articles, with the aim of contributing to scientific and technological advancement, as well as training and encouraging professionals committed to the quality, health and sustainability of the area.

The editorial scope of Revista Acadêmica Ciência Animal has focus on research trends in Animal Science. We are especially interested in issues related to the following lines of study:

2) Animal Production
3) Animal Reproduction
4) Clinical and Veterinary Surgery
5) Buiatrics
6) Basic Sciences

Journal history

Revista Acadêmica Ciência Animal is a publication of the School of Medicine and Life Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), published exclusively online and with free access.

From 2003 to 2014, under the title Revista Acadêmica: Ciências Agrárias e Ambientais (ISSN 0103-989X), the journal published research and studies in three fields of science: Animal, Agricultural and Environmental. From 2015 onwards, the editorial scope was restricted to the area of ​​Animal Science, since the journal became associated with the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science (PPGCA). The subtitle was then changed (Revista Acadêmica: Ciência Animal - ISSN 1981-4178) and, recently, a new title and ISSN were assigned: Academic Journal of Animal Science (2596-2868).

In the last Qualis evaluation, the journal received stratification B4 in the areas of Agricultural Sciences I and Veterinary Medicine.
