Procedimentos médicos em espaços fechados e desfechos psicológicos negativos: Revisão integrativa da literatura

Resumen

A presente revisão integrativa da literatura objetivou reunir achados de estudos sobre ansiedade, medo e claustrofobia em pacientes submetidos à ressonância magnética (RM), tomografia computadorizada (TC) e oxigenoterapia hiperbárica (OHB). As bases de dados utilizadas foram Scopus, PsycINFO, PubMed, Web of Science, SciELO e PePSIC. Após aplicação dos critérios de seleção, 15 artigos compuseram a amostra final do levantamento. Os resultados mostraram que uma ampla variedade de países tem publicado sobre esse tema, no entanto, não há representação na América do Sul. A RM foi a modalidade de procedimento mais investigada e não houve estudos sobre OHB na avaliação final. O Inventário de Ansiedade Traço-Estado foi o instrumento mais utilizado para avaliação do estado emocional do paciente. Observou-se que a ocorrência de desfechos piscológicos negativos podem estar associados a fatores como gênero, experiência prévia com o procedimento, área do corpo examinada, desenho da máquina e modalidade do exame. Sobre as intervenções, identificou-se musicoterapia, fornecimento de informações e treinamento de profissionais como estratégias utilizadas nos artigos selecionados. Por fim, destacou-se a necessidade de investigação sobre o papel de aspectos psicológicos na ocorrência de ansiedade, medo e claustrofobia em pacientes submetidos a procedimentos médicos realizados em espaços fechados.
