Abstract

In order for psychological tests to be used in Brazil, their manuals must include reliability studies and evidence of validity approved by the Psychological Test Evaluation System (SATEPSI) of the Federal Council of Psychology. Because of this, the Wartegg Test has been suspended since 2003 due to the lack of studies of this nature. Given this scenario, the aim of this study was to assess the reliability of the Crisi Wartegg System (CWS), which is an interpretation system for the Wartegg Test widely used in Italy and the United States. To this end, two judges evaluated 90 protocols, following the evaluation guidelines proposed by the CWS, for three variables of this system, namely: Affective Quality, Formal Quality and Evocative Character. Pearson's r, Cohen's Kappa and the Interclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) were calculated. In addition, by using three different statistics, it was possible to verify the strength, direction and consistency of the evaluations, which lends significant robustness to the study. It is suggested that further reliability and validity studies be carried out with a view to using the CWS in the Brazilian context.
