Abstract

Introduction: Characterize situations of sexual violence against children and adolescents in the municipality of Vitória/ES from 2018 to 2021.Materials and Methods: This research was descriptive in nature, utilizing official information from the "Individual Notification Sheets of Interpersonal/Self-inflicted Violence." Data were analyzed using descriptive procedures. Results: The primary profile of victims was brown girls without disabilities or disorders. There was a general drop of 13% in notifications during the pandemic. The predominant characteristics of the likely perpetrators were adult men, who were close to and/or known by the victims. The recurrence of violent events was notable. Additionally, the home was found to be the prevalent location of the abusive events. Regarding the referrals made, the health network was highlighted. Discussion: Common characteristics of cases of sexual violence in childhood and adolescence were confirmed, such as the predominance of female and mixed-race victims, and aggressors who were generally men with ties to the victims. Conclusion: The recurrent pattern of sexual violence in domestic environments stood out, highlighting its chronic nature.
