Abstract

Women are intertwined by layers of oppression that reach them in different intensities and senses according to gender, generation, race and class. Although violence affects everyone, they are not affected equally. In aging, violence against women reaches new levels, because at least two markers of oppression will be associated: being a woman and being elderly. The gendered basis of these constructions is grounded in the theory of apparatus and Intersectionality Theory. From this, this essay aims to analyze the constructs that intertwine in the Intersectionality of gender and generation, encompassing social, cultural, religious issues, which involve the pedagogy of affections and the loving and maternal devices, which in their general framework result in daily violence that affect women's health and quality of life. We conclude that in aging, such violence changes form and author, but gender issues remain a factor for its occurrence, with elderly women being the main victims, while elderly men, despite suffering more violence within the family than men young men continue to play a role of authority, which makes them less frequent victims.
