Abstract

The central theme of the present article revolves around the heterodox doctrine of the generation of the Holy Spirit, as defended by Origen of Alexandria. The main objective of the article is to present Origen's arguments on this topic, highlighting its importance in the development of Christian pneumatology. To this end, we will initially consider the importance of pneumatology in Origen's thought and then present his arguments for this doctrine, especially those found in the work Commentary on the Gospel of John.
