Abstract

In these times, which we can, without exaggeration, define as “pandemic times”, we are led to reflect on the meaning of “the home”, among other themes. Living, nowadays, has become a question that challenges us to think about a “new beginning” based on the discovery of essential meanings for human existence. The objective of this article is to bring to light the priority meaning of “to live”, since such meaning is revealing, not only of the tragedy that we have recently gone through and from which we are still not sure that we are free of, but also and above all, of the complexity of the interrelationships that make us ethical beings. The metaphor of the “home” Will serve as a key for reading both Aristotelian and Levinasian thought, regarding the home from a practical philosophy and a metaphysical ethics.
