Abstract

This article will address the theme of synodality and moral theology in the context of conscience. This, the expression of the person, is impacted by the influences of the digital environment that challenge the search for moral training and education. A well-formed conscience expresses the truth present within each person to be understood as a mystery of openness to the other. It is intended here to unfold this idea from three parts. The first will present the challenge of the digital environment to conscience and religion. Subsequently, the pastoral conversion proposed by Francis along the synodal path and the integration of the objective and subjective dimensions of morality. Finally, the points of convergence between consciousness in synodality as a manifestation of people's real experience. It is noteworthy that the digital environment favors a return to the protagonist of the moral experience rooted in the free, conscious and responsible subject. The synodal process, creatively carried out by Pope Francis, provides a sincere, real and courageous listening, in which the content to be problematized and analyzed by moralist theologians will emerge through conscience. The problem of reflection lies on the horizon of the application and reception of the synodal process carried out by Pope Francis, whose objective is to awaken in the Church a sense of 'walking together' in the midst of the complexity of today's culture. It is intended to present the ideas through an inductive methodology, which captures the challenges of current culture, its impacts on consciousness and the proposal itself present in the synodal process.
