Abstract

This article will present the trajectory of an ethnographic research that was developed in
Superagui Island, located on the coast of state of Paraná, developed through oral records
of the narratives of women healers of traditional Caiçara communities in order to point
paths that demonstrate health and spirituality as consonant forms of the process of care
and healing, as well as the importance of orality in the construction of identity. The text
will bring excerpts from the records of the speeches of the women participating in the
research, as a way of reaffirming their protagonism in the conjunction between
spirituality and health practices.
