Dossier V.18, N.1 (2026) - Deadline for submission: 28/02/2026
Theology and Technologies: At the Frontiers of the Human
Responsible: Dr Andréia Cristina Serrato - PUCPR
With the advance of new technologies, starting with A.I., we see impacts on the lives of human beings, raising questions about a new humanism. The question is, how does theology contribute to the debate? In this sense, this dossier aims to reflect on the person and biogenetics, starting from ethical questions, the encounter between theology and cosmology, asking: what is our place in the cosmos? Are there solution technologies that respond to the care of our common home and the impact of the ecological crisis? With the changes offered by A.I., how is creation understood from the point of view of theology? Does it have an impact on the meaning of human life? What about young people, who are the most exposed to technology? These and many other questions will help us to take steps towards an ethical-theological-Christian position in the face of the challenges presented. Theology, as a science, in its quest to understand the nature of God, religion, pastoral and spiritual issues, can make a contribution. The aim of this dossier is to reflect ethically by raising questions about responsibilities, privacy, justice, human dignity, social and environmental impacts on creation. To investigate the theological implications of A.I., as well as new technologies that involve questions about the relationship between human creation and divine creation.
Dossier v.18, n. 2 (2026) - Deadline for submission: 30/04/2026
Culture of care: religious institutions and the protection of children and adolescents
Responsible: Dr Márcio Luis Fernandes - PUCPR
This issue of Pistis e Praxis will look at aspects related to religious institutions, their policies, programmes and protocols for the protection of children and adolescents. Innovative articles that demonstrate efforts to prevent abuse within ecclesial environments and awareness-raising efforts that favour the promotion of a culture of care and attention to local state norms will be particularly appreciated. This dossier aims to bring together interdisciplinary reflections that articulate theological and pastoral reflection with other areas such as education, psychology and law to help think about safe ecclesial environments. The theological analysis and reception of Pope Francis' motu proprio Vos estis lux mundi - VELM, 2023 -, the influences on other institutions, and the ‘continuous and profound conversion of hearts, attested by concrete and effective actions involving all members of the Church’ will be at the centre of the reflections. The dossier will accept submissions that focus on the interaction between experiences of educational formation; prevention and protection in Christian and non-Christian religious institutions.
Dossier v.18, n. 3 (2026) - Deadline for submission: 30/06/2026
John and the 7 Churches: apocalypse, apocalyticism, archaeology and theology in the first century
Responsible: Dr Luiz Alexandre Solano Rossi - PUCPR
The Book of Revelation is a fascinating composition that has always intrigued both intellectuals and the people of the communities. It is written not to lead its readers into processes of alienation and denial, but rather to lead the reader to interpret the signs of history from the perspective of those who suffer. The restoration of human dignity and hope is presented in its pages, just as it condemns the institutions that promote all kinds of evil. This dossier welcomes articles on the Apocalypse of John from its multiple readings: exegetical, theological, hermeneutical, archaeological and decolonial.
