Estratégia como mediadora da relação entre uso de S.I. e desempenho empresarial

Com as mudanças mercadológicas dos últimos anos, as organizações têm buscado alternativas estratégicas diversificadas, muitas delas apoiadas pelo uso de sistemas computacionais. Este artigo tem como objetivo avaliar a influência da estratégia e do uso de sistemas de informação (S.I.) sobre o desempenho empresarial. Foram utilizados fatores multidimensionais em modelagem de equações estruturais. A técnica Partial Least Squares (PLS) foi aplicada com dados de 108 indústrias brasileiras. Os resultados indicam alta influência da estratégia sobre o desempenho empresarial, assim como de uso de SI sobre estratégia. Entretanto, apesar de significante, a relação direta entre uso de SI e desempenho demonstrou-se fraca. E o efeito total de uso de SI sobre desempenho, tendo estratégia como variável mediadora, apresentou-se altamente significante. O modelo explicou 55% da variabilidade de desempenho empresarial e confirma que o uso de SI, por si só, não garante um bom desempenho empresarial, devendo este ser orientado por estratégias corporativas que garantam alinhamento entre as ações da empresa e os interesses dos stakeholders.Descargas
