Submission guidelines
Fisioterapia em Movimento journal publishes papers from original researches and review articles that covers findings in the fields of physiotherapy and health. The main areas are Public Health, Geriatrics and Gerontology, Neurology, Sports Physical Therapy, Cardiopulmonary, Trauma and Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Hydrotherapy, Acupuncture, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Electrotherapy, Functional Movement Analysis, Physical therapy in Education, Ergonomics and Dermato-Functional Physiotherapy. All papers related to health and human care, though, are accepted for evaluation.
Studies should be original and should not have already been published elsewhere in the peer-reviewed literature. Manuscripts that have been deposited in a non-commercial pre-publication repository (arXiv, bioRxiv, among others) or institutional repository are accepted as long as informed in the Open Science Compliance Form, which must be submitted as a supplementary file at the time of submission.

The journal is aligned with the manuscript qualification norms and standards established by WHO and by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Papers containing results from studies with humans and/or animals will only be accepted for publication if clear that all the ethical principles have been followed in the investigation. These papers must necessarily include a statement indicating that the research protocol has been approved by an institutional ethics committee (as established in the National Health Council Resolution 466/12 on the ethical guidelines for the development of research involving human subjects). For experiments involving animals, follow Pain international guidelines (PAIN, 16: 109-110, 1983).

INSTRUCTIONS
Publication fee: R$600 payable upon article acceptance.
After being published on Scielo, articles can be shared on social networks, personal pages, etc.
Rate of articles evaluated and rejected in the last year was 45.8%, 15% of them with the possibility of a new submission ("reject and resubmit").
Original Article: resulting from empirical, experimental or conceptual research, it must contain: Title Page, Abstract and Resumo (both containing three to five descriptors), Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References (up to 40 references). The text must have a maximum of 4,500 words, excluding the title page, abstracts, references, tables, figures and legends, and contain up to 5 illustrations.
Review: resulting from studies with defined planning and based on consistent bibliographic research, it must contain: Title Page, Abstract and Resumo (both containing three to five descriptors), Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (Results and Discussion can be presented together), Conclusion, Reference. The text must have a maximum of 6,000 words, excluding the title page, abstracts, references, tables, figures and legends, and contain up to 5 illustrations. Note: Reviews will only be accepted in accordance with the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. Registration number must be informed below the abstract.<
Case Study and Case Report: will be accepted only when addressing rare cases, original diagnosis and treatment or unusual results. With the exception of the Title Page, Abstract and Resumo (both containing three to five descriptors), no specific structuring is required. We suggest, however, the text to be divided into Introduction, Description of the report, Discussion, Conclusion, References. The text must have a maximum of 2,500 words, excluding the title page, abstracts, references, tables, figures and legends, and contain up to 5 illustrations.
• Papers may be submitted in English or Portuguese, and the text must contain an abstract in each language. Once accepted for publication the article must be translated to English.
• Papers should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file, A4 paper size, 1.5 space in 12 point, Times New Roman or Arial font.
• Illustrations (figures, graphs, charts and tables) should be limited to a maximum of five (5), inserted in the text file, identified and numbered consecutively in the text in Arabic numerals. Figures must be submitted in high resolution (minimum of 300 dpi) and in TIFF or EPS format.
• Up to seven (7) authors per article. It´s important to provide the exact list and order of authors at the time of the submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of authorship must be made solely upon approval by the journal´s editorial board. Only in exceptional circumstances will the editorial board consider such modifications after the manuscript has been accepted.

In order to submit the original text, the following structure should be observed:
Title page
English and Portuguese title, containing no more than 12 words, sufficiently specific and descriptive.
Full name, ORCID, institutions and respective cities/states of all authors.
Identify the corresponding author and email for contact.
Describe the specific contribution of each author to the work. Each author must have participated in the work sufficiently to be able to publicly assume responsibility for its content.Y our participation should include: a) conception or design, analysis and interpretation of data, or both; b) writing of the manuscript or its revision, when including important intellectual criticism of its content; c) final approval of the version to be published. Simple participation in data collection does not justify authorship. Contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship but who have contributed to the study or manuscript, should be recognized in the Acknowledgments section, specifying their contribution.
Abstract/Resumo
The structured abstract should include the topics presented in the paper: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion. It must contain from 150 to 250 words maximum. The last line should indicate the descriptors (keywords/palavras-chave) in minimum of 3 and maximum of 5, being representative of the work content. To standardize the descriptors, please use the healthcare Thesaurus (MeSH).
Body text
• Introduction should concisely state the purpose of the study and to describe which advances have been achieved with the research. The introduction should not include data or conclusions of the work in question.
• Methods must offer, in a brief and objective way, information enabling the study to be replicated by other researchers. We ask you to reference the standard techniques.
• Results should provide a brief description of the new findings, with little personal opinion.
• Discussion interprets the results and relate them to prior knowledge, especially those reported previously in the introduction. This part should be presented separately from the results.
• Conclusion should be limited to the purpose of the new findings, relating them to prior knowledge. Use quotes only when they are necessary to support the study.
• Acknowledgments, if any, should be synthetic and concise.
• References are listed in numerical order and in the same order in which they are mentioned in the text (Arabic numerals, superscript). The reference list appears at the end of the paper. References should follow the standards summarized in the NLM’s International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE): sample references or detailed here. Examples:
- Elderly people with OAJ are nine times more likely to have a faster decline in gait speed than elderly people without OA, with a 2.75% decrease in gait speed per year.1
- According to Kaufman et al.2 and Kim et al.,3 individuals with KOA tend to walk at slower speeds to reduce joint stress on the knee joint.
