A INFLUÊNCIA DA REABILITAÇÃO VESTIBULAR EM PACIENTES COM VERTIGEM POSICIONAL PAROXÍSTICA BENIGNA
Abstract
A Vertigem Posicional Paroxística Benigna (VPPB), é a desordem vestibular periférica mais comum que causa vertigem. Hoje em meio há tantos métodos alternativos para cura de doenças, surgiu o interesse em verificar a eficácia da reabilitação vestibular nestes pacientes. Para concretizar este estudo, utilizou-se uma pesquisa quase-experimental, sendo aleatoriamente selecionados oito pacientes com faixa etária média de 38 anos (+/- 8,3), que foram subdivididos em grupo controle, composto por pacientes que utilizavam apenas medicamentos; e grupo experimental constituído por pacientes submetidos à reabilitação vestibular, duas vezes por semana durante cinco semanas. A reabilitação vestibular foi composta por manobras de Semont e Epley, mais exercícios domiciliares de Brandt-Daroff modificado e de Cawthorne e Cooksey. Embora o estudo tenha incluído um pequeno número de pacientes, os resultados do grupo experimental foram muito bons quando comparados ao grupo controle.Downloads
