Analysis of the influence of endometriosis in quality of life

Introduction: Endometriosis is a disorder that can widely affect the quality of life of women with this pathology and interfere in the biological, psychological, social, marital and family context. Objective: To analyze the influence of endometriosis on quality of life. Methods: The study was carried out from March to April 2018, with 10 volunteers from the Santa Casa de Misericordia Foundation of Pará who present clinical diagnosis of endometriosis. The Endometriosis Quality of Life Questionnaire (EHP-30), Portuguese version, was applied in order to evaluate the quality of life in women with endometriosis. Results: The sociodemographic results showed a predominance of women aged between 29 to 55 years, most married (6), and full collegiate (5). Seven of the 10 volunteers had gestations. Among the areas evaluated by the EHP-30, the central questionnaire on quality of life related to pelvic pain had 79% of the items compromising the patient. In the other questionnaires, sexual life (82%) was the most affected index, followed by professional life (70%) and infertility (58.82%). Conclusion: The aspects of the quality of life of women evaluated most influenced by endometriosis-related pelvic pain were sexuality and professional life, causing biopsychosocial damages.
