Resumo

With the regulation of learning assessment in the Angolan education system, transformations are occurring in the teaching and learning process. This article aims to analyze the role of formative assessment in primary and secondary general education. It is a documentary analysis study exploring official documents articulated with bibliographic analysis. Progressive changes are observed in the assessment processes established at the regulatory level, especially when compared to the learning assessment system initially established with the implementation of the educational reform. The regulation establishes formative assessment as the main modality in the education system, although it is subject to continuous classificatory assessment processes to some extent. In conclusion, formative assessment in the educational context under study suggests its identification with an essentially punctual regulatory perspective.
