Resumo

This article emerges from shared concerns developed through dialogues and academic encounters, in journeys across Brazil and Latin America, revealing questions that go beyond the individual dimension and traverse researchers who are beginning their paths in narrative research and its derivations. After all, what are the epistemic foundations that sustain narrative research and help us understand narrative as a method that subverts traditional scientific thinking? Based on this question, and grounded in a review of key scholarly works, this text discusses advances and contributions of educational research that understand narrative as an art of thinking and position the researcher as a practitioner-reflective narrator of lived and felt experiences.
